In the 33rd minute, one of Defensores de Savóia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Defensores de Savóia. 38 minutes into the match, Defensores de Savóia's goal looked a bit too open when Gildo Zonta came free, but Jacinto Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st minute, Erasmo Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
