Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Richard Novaes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Herluf Broger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 4th minute Marcus Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráuzio Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Herluf Broger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráuzio Almeida having to interfere. Murilo Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Matorin in the 7th minute of play. After some careless play in the Muçum FC defense, Benjamin Matorin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Murilo Taffarel. The Muçum FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Murilo Taffarel should have stopped the shot. If Benjamin Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudinei Pena hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Muçum FC's Murilo Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Matorin in the 21st minute of play. Adelino Arce came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Murilo Taffarel could save by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benjamin Matorin in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Murilo Taffarel saved Muçum FC from getting behind. Richard Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Dráuzio Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Glauco Favoretto struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Dráuzio Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Muçum FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Herluf Broger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muçum FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Herluf Broger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dráuzio Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rogério de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Dráuzio Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gramados FC's Álvaro Rocha got a free kick in the 35th minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Herluf Broger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muçum FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herluf Broger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rogério de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benjamin Matorin was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Valadares in the 52nd minute of play forced Gramados FC's goalkeeper Dráuzio Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilberto do Valle during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 56 played minutes Muçum FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto do Valle. 57 minutes into the match, Muçum FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Matorin came free, but Murilo Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rogério de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Álvaro Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Marcus Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráuzio Almeida having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gramados FC's zone, Rogério de Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dráuzio Almeida came out of the goal and Rogério de Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Rogério de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Muçum FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogério de Andrade couldn't finish the play. Dráuzio Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Richard Novaes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dráuzio Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Novaes in the 81st minute of the match. Marcus Valadares helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Muçum FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Marcus Valadares hit a great ball. In the 88th minute of the match Andrézinho Valle shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Murilo Taffarel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dráuzio Almeida was a little too slow when Rogério de Andrade got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 1-1. 95 minutes into the match, Gramados FC's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Novaes came free, but Dráuzio Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adelino Arce scored 2-1 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Murilo Taffarel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Gramados FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
