In the 31st minute Adrianinho Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luís Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 32 played minutes Juliao got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Alves. In the 37th match minute, Jaguariaiva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. After 38 played minutes, Juliao's Luiz Fábio Schmidt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cássio Proença came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Juliao reached it. 43 minutes into the match, Juliao's goal looked a bit too open when Lenílson Costa came free, but André Luís Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute Adrianinho Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luís Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Juliao's zone, Lenílson Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Luís Amaral came out of the goal and Lenílson Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lenílson Costa was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Juliao getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Tostão Almeida hit a great ball. Juliao's André Luís Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson Costa in the 54th minute of play. Cássio Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrézinho Proença in the 57th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, André Luís Amaral successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lenílson Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. André Luís Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adrianinho Favoretto did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised André Luís Amaral 82 minutes into the match. Lenílson Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luís Amaral having to interfere. With his leg André Luís Amaral managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Jaguariaiva's Adrianinho Favoretto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Jaguariaiva eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
