If Serafim Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lino Zonta made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Douglas Rosado sent off a good shot on target. If Serafim Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bebeto Paranaense in the 26th minute of play forced Valaraukar F. C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Serafim Couto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lino Zonta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 48 minutes into the match, Valaraukar F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Elano da Silva came free, but 温崇思 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Doriva de Alcântara was the one to do the kick off. For all the effort they put into the match, the Boa Esporte Clube players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Valaraukar F. C..
