Vikings's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Conrado Lopez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Conrado Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Dudu Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Giovani Zilles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vikings's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos Futebol C. Sub 23 the free kick. A collision led to Vikings getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Giovani Zilles hit a great ball. Dudu Hermes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evelio Valiente's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Evelio Valiente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos Futebol C. Sub 23's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evelio Valiente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th minute Evelio Valiente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dudu Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danilo Alagoano got free with Enrique Lopes in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 34th minute, Santos Futebol C. Sub 23's Gabriel Meira seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gabriel Meira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Santos Futebol C. Sub 23 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gabriel Meira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 33 minutes into the game, one of Santos Futebol C. Sub 23:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Enrique Lopes, was totally fooled by Vikings's Sydney Mangueira, who 36 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 38 minutes, João Adolfo Leão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vikings and the Santos Futebol C. Sub 23 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vikings's João Adolfo Leão got a free kick in the 38th minute. Evelio Valiente might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dudu Hermes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evelio Valiente ran back to his position shaking his head. Evelio Valiente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Hermes having to interfere. If Laurențiu Remus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Santos Futebol C. Sub 23's Evelio Valiente sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dudu Hermes narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Durvalino do Nascimento to strike the kick off in the second half. Durvalino do Nascimento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dudu Hermes having to make a save. Vikings's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Alfredo de Sousa 56 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. Dudu Hermes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Durvalino do Nascimento in the 63rd minute. When Durvalino do Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Santos Futebol C. Sub 23 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino do Nascimento couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the match, Vikings's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino do Nascimento came free, but Dudu Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dudu Hermes made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Durvalino do Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Vikings defense, Durvalino do Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dudu Hermes. The Vikings fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dudu Hermes should have stopped the shot. If Durvalino do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dudu Hermes came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Santos Futebol C. Sub 23's Alexsandro Zanette. But to his dismay, Alexsandro Zanette quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Dudu Hermes made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Durvalino do Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. Durvalino do Nascimento succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-6 in the 91st playminute. When the match was over Santos Futebol C. Sub 23 could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vikings throughout the match.
