After a rather tough play, Celtic FC's Lúcio de Barros got a free kick in the 6th minute. A collision led to Celtic FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Moisés Albuquerque hit a great ball. Valdo Neves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jarbas Baptista having to make a save. Dorival Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorival Melo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, Morere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorival Melo to maneuver through the defense. Jarbas Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdo Neves in the 24th minute of the match. Emanuel França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustão Bezerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. A collision led to Morere getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Dorival Melo hit a great ball. Agostinho Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Celtic FC booed when Morere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dito Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdo Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valdo Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Baptista having to interfere. Ademar Bastos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Baptista having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdo Neves in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarbas Baptista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When João Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Celtic FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Valdo Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ademar Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ademar Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Jarbas Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Morere's Jarbas Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo Neves in the 75th minute of play. Dito Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emanuel França having to make a save. In the 86th minute Valdo Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarbas Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Valdo Neves came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Celtic FC fans jumped to their feet. Lúcio de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute Valdo Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarbas Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moisés Albuquerque's late challenge caught a Morere's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Moisés Albuquerque helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Morere booed when Celtic FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Morere's Dorival Melo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 94th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Emanuel França but with some difficulty. Emanuel França made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Dito Barreto sent off a good shot on target. Celtic FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
