Flamengo's George Best got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. George Best's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Róbson Schmidt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. George Best was extremely unlucky when he, in the 25th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Alfredinho Madureira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Róbson Schmidt came out and tried to block the shot, but Alfredinho Madureira slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 29th minute. Leonel Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. 林棋风 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Su Jian Bo to maneuver through the defense. Ricardinho Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 林棋风 having to interfere. In the 45th match minute, Polêmicos Ltda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Américo Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfredinho Madureira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Flamengo fully deserved thier win.
