Cláudio Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enéas Cardozo in the 3rd minute of the match. If Cauan de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cauan de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Palmeirais FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cauan de Andrade couldn't finish the play. Palmeirais FC's Cláudio Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswaldo Correia in the 8th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tadeu Dantas during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Pedro Luís Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in CRFlamengo's zone, Cauan de Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vivaldo Tasso came out of the goal and Cauan de Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oswaldo Correia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cláudio Mendonça having to make a save. After 24 played minutes Palmeirais FC got a freekick which was hit by Donato Guedes. In the 29th minute, CRFlamengo's Alex Paes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alex Paes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of CRFlamengo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alex Paes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 29th minute, one of CRFlamengo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for CRFlamengo. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Palmeirais FC. Donato Guedes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vivaldo Tasso. 1-0. After a rather tough play, Palmeirais FC's Rodolfo de Brito got a free kick in the 36th minute. Enéas Cardozo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Cláudio Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Enéas Cardozo came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the CRFlamengo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enéas Cardozo couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enéas Cardozo to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Enéas Cardozo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Cláudio Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cláudio Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Enéas Cardozo sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, CRFlamengo's Ian Secco got a free kick in the 59th minute. 63 minutes into the game, one of CRFlamengo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Palmeirais FC. Donato Guedes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vivaldo Tasso. 2-2. If Hortêncio Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cauan de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enéas Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Mendonça having to interfere. Donato Guedes hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Enéas Cardozo made a precise shot to the right of Cláudio Mendonça. Palmeirais FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Vivaldo Tasso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hortêncio Mandrak went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
