With his leg Vicente Soeiro managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Tucuriu AD's Juan de Sena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tucuriu AD's Alexandre da Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Mineiro in the 37th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Roger Rocha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexandre da Silva. Tucuriu AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roger Rocha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 52 minutes, Silvério Custódio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corinthians and the Tucuriu AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd minute, one of Corinthians:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Corinthians. With an all-out effort, Corinthians's Alexandre da Silva threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roger Rocha, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Tucuriu AD's Aníbal Branco got a free kick in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Roger Rocha lined in a short shot 2-2 behind a frustrated Alexandre da Silva. After 66 minutes of play, Corinthians's Dalmo Mineiro made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 78th minute, Tucuriu AD's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dalmo Mineiro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Roger Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Corinthians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Rocha couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Tucuriu AD getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Lauro Tinoco hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Corinthians's Roger Rocha slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alexandre da Silva. That made the score 2-6 after 90 minutes of play. Alexandre da Silva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dalmo Mineiro in the 96th minute. Corinthians played a much better game than Tucuriu AD and deserved their victory. The Tucuriu AD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
