When Wágner Pitta came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the chelcstan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wágner Pitta couldn't finish the play. Ernani da Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. A collision led to chelcstan getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Luiz Guilherme Moreno hit a great ball. When Jeferson Senna came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Mantenopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeferson Senna couldn't finish the play. In the 45th minute, Rony Veiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The wind increased when Luiz Nogueira made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Jeferson Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cipriano Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in chelcstan's zone, Rony Veiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cipriano Cabral came out of the goal and Rony Veiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to chelcstan getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Nico Paranaense hit a great ball. A hard shot by Matías Ferraz from long distance, 61 minutes into the match, got Cipriano Cabral's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With a little luck, chelcstan's Cipriano Cabral got control of the ball when Rony Veiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Jeferson Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rony Veiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cipriano Cabral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rony Veiga ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68th minute, Jeferson Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cipriano Cabral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeferson Senna's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Sérgio Sena charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
