When Luiz Eduardo Peres fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Florencio's protests and gave Luiz Eduardo Peres a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Luiz Eduardo Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th match minute, Florencio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilian Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Luiz Fabiano Rezende had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remo Prestes. Potiguara SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fabiano Rezende was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Potiguara SC's zone, Gilson Hoffmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remo Prestes came out of the goal and Gilson Hoffmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remo Prestes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luiz Eduardo Peres showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. Potiguara SC's Remo Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Vasconcelos in the 28th minute of play. Florencio's Váldson Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Róbson Coelho in the 29th minute of play. Remo Prestes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilson Hoffmann's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Natã Garcia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Potiguara SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Florencio the free kick. After 39 minutes Potiguara SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Armando Bittencourt who took care of the corner kick. If Luiz Eduardo Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 43 minutes of play Potiguara SC's Natã Garcia was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 44th minute, Natã Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Armando Bittencourt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Remo Prestes. Potiguara SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Gilson Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Luiz Fabiano Rezende hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After having played for 56 minutes, Marcos Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Potiguara SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Vinhas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Eduardo Peres took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remo Prestes. Remo Prestes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Remo Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Hoffmann in the 64th minute of the match. Luiz Eduardo Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Potiguara SC's Marcos Vinhas got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 70 minutes into the match, Potiguara SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilson Hoffmann came free, but Remo Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Eduardo Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remo Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Hoffmann in the 73rd minute of play. A collision led to Potiguara SC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Marcos Vinhas hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilson Hoffmann in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remo Prestes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Potiguara SC's Remo Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo Peres in the 79th minute of play. The Florencio fans' excitement grew in the 80th match minute when Florencio's Gilson Hoffmann looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Róbson Coelho hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Gilson Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Eduardo Peres in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remo Prestes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Remo Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilson Hoffmann in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remo Prestes prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
