Digo Tavares was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Jano Cruz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jano Cruz really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Gugu Amorim notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gaucha's Luiz Fabiano Aguiar. Luiz Fabiano Aguiar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 15 minutes into the game, César Novaes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gugu Amorim to make the kick off. The supporters of Mengarda FC booed when Gaucha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerson Faria was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 68th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gugu Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Luiz Fabiano Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
