Hélder Vargas charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hélder Vargas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Natingui FC's Hélder Vargas got a free kick in the 18th minute. Kléberson da Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Alexsandro Alves made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Dedé Brasil kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alexsandro Alves. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. If Paulão Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo das Neves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Arruda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After 37 played minutes Natingui FC got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Félix. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Dedé Brasil made the kick off in the second half. Paulão Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnaldo das Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Fernando Arruda made a huge save. Natingui FC's Alexsandro Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dedé Brasil in the 63rd minute of play. Dedé Brasil took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexsandro Alves. Alexsandro Alves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. If Claudinei Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76thth minute of the game Claudinei Carneiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mondego's Fernando Arruda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Mondego's Paulão Xavier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexsandro Alves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 80 minutes into the match, Natingui FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé Brasil came free, but Alexsandro Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinei Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Arruda having to interfere. Dedé Brasil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Alexsandro Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doriva Carvalho's late challenge caught a Mondego's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doriva Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th minute, Doriva Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
