Bernardinho Lucas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a rather tough play, Unidos da Vila's Cláudio Maciel got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Claudinho Sarmento scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yan Ramos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bernardinho Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Favoretto in the 29th minute of the match. After 30 minutes, Luiz Gustavo Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uiraponga and the Unidos da Vila players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Uiraponga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Gustavo Barros to maneuver through the defense. The goalkeeper, Bernardinho Lucas, was totally fooled by Unidos da Vila's Olívio Linhares, who 37 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 43rd minute, Mauro Quintal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yan Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Sarmento in the 45th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinho Sarmento made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Uiraponga's Falcão de Mendonça sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yan Ramos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 56th minute Alfredão Munhoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardinho Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Claudinho Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Uiraponga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudinho Sarmento couldn't finish the play. Mauro Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yan Ramos having to interfere. When Manuel Correia fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Unidos da Vila's protests and gave Manuel Correia a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Unidos da Vila's zone, Claudinho Sarmento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yan Ramos came out of the goal and Claudinho Sarmento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Falcão de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Yan Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mauro Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Claudinho Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Uiraponga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudinho Sarmento couldn't finish the play.
