After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Jorginho Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fantomas's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorginho Catarinense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilmar Romero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute, Adalberto Ramalho made a precise shot to the right of Júlio Xavier. It was beautiful to see Fantomas's Virgílio Trevisan in action when he in the 33rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 35th minute Cícero Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilmar Romero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorginho Catarinense's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Jorginho Catarinense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorginho Catarinense to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Jorginho Catarinense put it in 1-5 from a short distance just to the right of Gilmar Romero. 55 minutes into the match, Detonaltas FC's goalkeeper Gilmar Romero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cícero Castro.
