José Augusto Massa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Dé Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute Carlinhos Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Ipubi SC's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte Gaúcho came free, but Rodolfo Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Serginho Xavier sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ipubi SC's Rodolfo Sarmento didn't even have to move. Rodolfo Sarmento didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlinhos Velloso went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Coto SS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when José Augusto Massa scored to the left of an out of position Waldir Barros, making the score, 2-1. Franklin Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Duarte Gaúcho struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Rodolfo Sarmento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coto SS. Carlinhos Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Sarmento having to interfere. Rodolfo Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Gaúcho in the 31st minute of the match. A collision led to Ipubi SC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Cláudio Castro hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, Coto SS's Serginho Xavier broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Franklin Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Waldir Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipubi SC. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Duarte Gaúcho made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Carlinhos Velloso notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ipubi SC's Rodolfo Sarmento. Rodolfo Sarmento was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 58 minutes into the match, Coto SS's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto Massa came free, but Waldir Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duarte Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Sarmento having to interfere. Coto SS's Waldir Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Massa in the 62nd minute of play. Franklin Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ipubi SC's Rodolfo Sarmento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Ipubi SC from getting a goal against them. In the 68th minute, Duarte Gaúcho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Coto SS's Duarte Gaúcho in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ipubi SC's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Ipubi SC's Luisinho Maciel got a free kick in the 71st minute. After a rather tough play, Coto SS's Inácio Neves got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute, Duarte Gaúcho made a precise shot to the right of Rodolfo Sarmento. Ipubi SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Serginho Xavier hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. It was beautiful to see Ipubi SC's Bruno Guerra in action when he in the 87th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Franklin Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Waldir Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Ipubi SC's Rodolfo Sarmento got control of the ball when Carlinhos Velloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Coto SS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Coto SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
