Waldir Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diamantino Hoffmann in the 4th minute of the match. Aveiro's Victor Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Gaúcho in the 6th minute of play. Percy Alvarenga's late challenge caught a Coto SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Percy Alvarenga helped the player get up and apologised. After 10 played minutes Aveiro got a freekick which was hit by Percy Alvarenga. Carlinhos Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Coto SS's Waldir Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Hoffmann in the 21st minute of play. Waldir Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diamantino Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Duarte Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Percy Alvarenga got his second yellow card in the match during the 28th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Aveiro getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Percy Alvarenga hit a great ball. After 29 played minutes, Coto SS's Serginho Xavier shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Victor Queiroz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Coto SS reached it. Duarte Gaúcho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victor Queiroz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlinhos Velloso in the 41st minute of play forced Aveiro's goalkeeper Victor Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aveiro's Silvinho Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Duarte Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Victor Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 minutes, Hernani Arruda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aveiro and the Coto SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Coto SS booed when Aveiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernani Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Silvinho Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Barros having to interfere. Hudson Hoffmann hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Coto SS's Serginho Xavier couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 67th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Aveiro. Carlinhos Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd match minute, Aveiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Sá to maneuver through the defense. Carlinhos Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Queiroz having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlinhos Velloso got free with Victor Queiroz in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Coto SS fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Coto SS's Carlinhos Velloso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Carlinhos Velloso struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Victor Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coto SS. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Gaúcho in the 86th minute of play forced Aveiro's goalkeeper Victor Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duarte Gaúcho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victor Queiroz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Victor Queiroz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlinhos Velloso in the 89th minute. Benjamin Sá hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Carlinhos Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Victor Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlinhos Velloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Coto SS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
