Waldir Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Raphael Amorim charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raphael Amorim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Coto SS's Raphael Amorim got a free kick in the 7th minute. Carlinhos Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Coto SS booed when Aveiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percy Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Duarte Gaúcho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raphael Amorim was shown his second yellow card after 16 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 17th minute, Raphael Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Coto SS getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Duarte Gaúcho hit a great ball. Waldir Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvinho Viana in the 20th minute of the match. Custódio Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Waldir Barros came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Aveiro's Horácio de Almeida. But to his dismay, Horácio de Almeida quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Silvinho Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlinhos Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Victor Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victor Queiroz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlinhos Velloso in the 37th minute. In the 37th minute, Aveiro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Paulão Baptista fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 41st minute, Coto SS's Carlinhos Velloso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Waldir Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Percy Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlinhos Velloso made a kick off. Aveiro's Victor Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Gaúcho in the 52nd minute of play. Benjamin Sá hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Diamantino Hoffmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aveiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Diamantino Hoffmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silvinho Viana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Waldir Barros made a huge save. 64 minutes into the game, Duarte Gaúcho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Victor Queiroz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlinhos Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Queiroz having to interfere. Duarte Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 73 played minutes Coto SS got a freekick which was hit by Inácio Neves. Diamantino Hoffmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldir Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Victor Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlinhos Velloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inácio Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Victor Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diamantino Hoffmann did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Waldir Barros 85 minutes into the match. 97 minutes into the match, Coto SS's goal looked a bit too open when Percy Alvarenga came free, but Waldir Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Despite being the better team, Coto SS failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
