Waldir Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franklin Cardoso in the 22nd minute of play. Inácio Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Franklin Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Barros having to interfere. Franklin Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duarte Gaúcho was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. Coto SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Coto SS's Waldir Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Cardoso in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Coto SS had won after a very even match.
