After a defensive mix-up in ROSÁRIO SPORT's zone, Luiz Fabiano Melo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Almeida came out of the goal and Luiz Fabiano Melo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Branco in the 28th minute of play forced ROSÁRIO SPORT's goalkeeper Rogério Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laerte da Cunha hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the match, ROSÁRIO SPORT's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fabiano Melo came free, but Rogério Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Luiz Fabiano Melo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Gararu's Luiz Fabiano Melo suffered a sprained foot after 53 minutes and couldn't finish the game.
