The Tanquiuho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that William Mattos should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovanni Zanette in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg William Mattos saved Tanquiuho from getting behind. William Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Zanette, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Jorginho Lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Tanquiuho getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Chico Maciel hit a great ball. Geovanni Zanettes short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got William Mattos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Jorginho Lago came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Espalhado fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorginho Lago couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the match, Tanquiuho's goalkeeper William Mattos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorginho Lago. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dráuzio Saldanha to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Espalhado's goal looked a bit too open when Dráuzio Saldanha came free, but Sílvio Luiz Madureira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Teixeira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sílvio Luiz Madureira. Espalhado's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnaldo Teixeira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 60th minute Dráuzio Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Luiz Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tanquiuho's Arnaldo Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovanni Zanette in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck William Mattos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Geovanni Zanette put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of William Mattos. After having played for 86 minutes, Dráuzio Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tanquiuho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dráuzio Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Franklin Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Sílvio Luiz Madureira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnaldo Teixeira in the 91st minute. In the 91st match minute, Espalhado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fábio Abraão to maneuver through the defense. When the referee ended the match the Espalhado players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
