With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto Paraense in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Zanette saved Vaccacahy from getting behind. After some careless play in the Maringá Futebol Clube defense, Vânderson Prata kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rogério Correia. The Maringá Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rogério Correia should have stopped the shot. Luisinho Monteiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Richard Zanette read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Vaccacahy's Richard Zanette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Paraense in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Vaccacahy booed when Maringá Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maringá Futebol Clube's Rogério Correia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Maringá Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. When Delfim Alcântara fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maringá Futebol Clube's protests and gave Delfim Alcântara a yellow card for diving instead. Maringá Futebol Clube's Rogério Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Figueiredo in the 30th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Umberto Paraense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Richard Zanette was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. The supporters of Maringá Futebol Clube booed when Vaccacahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Paulo Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafael Figueiredo was the one to do the kick off. Vaccacahy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Umberto Paraense scored to the left of an out of position Richard Zanette, making the score, 1-1. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Rafael Figueiredo sped through Maringá Futebol Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rogério Correia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Prata in the 67th minute of play forced Maringá Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Rogério Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Umberto Paraense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Richard Zanette having to make a save. If Umberto Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luisinho Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Richard Zanette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richard Zanette prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Vaccacahy's Pedro Paulo Negri got a free kick in the 87th minute. Vânderson Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Zanette stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Paraense's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Richard Zanette took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisinho Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maringá Futebol Clube were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
