Dalmo Garcia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldão Lopes in the 9th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Caduco FC's goalkeeper Dalmo Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronaldão Lopes. When Rubinho de Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Maracaju E.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubinho de Mendonça couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Aírton Massa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maracaju E.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Gilvan Almeida hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 25th match minute, Caduco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Almeida to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute of the match, Ronaldão Lopes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dalmo Garcia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Joélson Sarmento didn't quite understand what happened when in the 30 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Caduco FC's Dalmo Garcia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Caduco FC from getting a goal against them. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Paraibano made a kick off. In the 56th minute Ronaldão Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubinho de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dalmo Garcia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rubinho de Mendonça went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Caduco FC's Dalmo Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho de Mendonça in the 71st minute of play. The throw-in from Gonçalo Paiva in the 76th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Caduco FC's Joélson Sarmento. 80 minutes into the match, Caduco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldão Lopes came free, but Dalmo Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Miguel Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Caduco FC defense, Ronaldão Lopes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dalmo Garcia. The Caduco FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dalmo Garcia should have stopped the shot. In the 95th minute Ronaldão Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ronaldão Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Maracaju E.C players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
