Belmiro Sampaio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luiz Meireles. Caetetu EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Enio Furlan fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Antway E. C.'s protests and gave Enio Furlan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Antway E. C. getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Enio Furlan hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juvenal Donato in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir Hoffmann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 19 minutes into the match, Antway E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Juvenal Donato came free, but Waldir Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Natã Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Caetetu EC's goalkeeper Luiz Meireles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dieguinho Vale. Natã Coelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldir Hoffmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Dieguinho Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Luiz Meireles made a huge save. The Antway E. C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Caetetu EC were winning 0-1.

In the 63rd minute, Juvenal Donato fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Luiz Eduardo Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. When Arthur Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Antway E. C.'s protests and gave Arthur Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 minutes Antway E. C.'s goalkeeper Waldir Hoffmann managed, with a little bit of luck, save Natã Coelho's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. 67 minutes into the game, Natã Coelho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Waldir Hoffmann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 71st minute of the match, Juvenal Donato got a very nice opportunity to score, but Waldir Hoffmann was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Antway E. C.'s Kléberson Xavier got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 80th minute, Caetetu EC's Natã Coelho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Waldir Hoffmann. Waldir Hoffmann yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. If Natã Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caetetu EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
