After 9 played minutes Vivaldo Reis rounded Chapena's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Vivaldo Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When José Pedro Meirelles fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chapena's protests and gave José Pedro Meirelles a yellow card for diving instead. José Pedro Meirelles kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th match minute, Florescente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hannes Karlsson to maneuver through the defense. After 21 played minutes Chapena got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro Meirelles. 25 minutes into the match, Vivaldo Reis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Waldemar de Sena, 3-0. Hannes Karlsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Florescente booed when Chapena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florescente's Zé Roberto Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vivaldo Reis got free with Waldemar de Sena in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zé Roberto Lucas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldemar de Sena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Chapena's goal looked a bit too open when Vivaldo Reis came free, but Waldemar de Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Chapena's goalkeeper Waldemar de Sena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Roberto Lucas. Waldemar de Sena was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vivaldo Reis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 42 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Chapena's zone, Vivaldo Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldemar de Sena came out of the goal and Vivaldo Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Roberto Lucas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Hannes Karlsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vivaldo Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Waldemar de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71stth minute of the game Vivaldo Reis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chapena's Waldemar de Sena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 74 minutes of play, Florescente's Carlos Eduardo Dantas made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldemar de Sena was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Chapena's zone, Carlos Eduardo Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldemar de Sena came out of the goal and Carlos Eduardo Dantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Zé Roberto Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Florescente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Roberto Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Roberto Lucas in the 95th minute of play forced Chapena's goalkeeper Waldemar de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Eduardo Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar de Sena having to interfere.
