In the 9th match minute, Red Bull New York was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wiliam Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Lenílson Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luan Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Bruno Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doriva Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Dadá Peres received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adhemar Bittencourt came out and tried to block the shot, but Dadá Peres slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. Luan Nogueira fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 25th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. In the 27th minute, Lenílson Baptista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adhemar Bittencourt was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Rodrigo de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 37th minute, Dadá Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39th minute Luan Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luan Nogueira took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Coelho. Bruno Coelho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Lenílson Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The wind increased when Lenílson Baptista made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Goias's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Reis came free, but Adhemar Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lenílson Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Lenílson Baptista left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Red Bull New York fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. If Dadá Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rodrigo de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Adhemar Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 68 minutes of play, Red Bull New York's Lenílson Baptista made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adhemar Bittencourt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lenílson Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Adhemar Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Lenílson Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Bull New York's supporters rose to their feet, but Lenílson Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adhemar Bittencourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Goias's zone, Lenílson Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adhemar Bittencourt came out of the goal and Lenílson Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Goias's Adhemar Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson Baptista in the 83rd minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Wiliam Schmidt notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Goias's Adhemar Bittencourt. Adhemar Bittencourt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 94 minutes into the match, Goias's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo de Azevedo came free, but Adhemar Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the game, Rodrigo de Azevedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Adhemar Bittencourt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
