In the 24thth minute of the game Natã Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Red Bull New York's Bruno Coelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute Natã Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo de Azevedo in the 28th minute of play forced Itauninha SC's goalkeeper Gonçalo Paulista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Itauninha SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Duarte Couto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Armandinho Vidal's late challenge caught a Itauninha SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armandinho Vidal helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th minute, Armandinho Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natã Brito in the 63rd minute of the match. The Itauninha SC fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Itauninha SC's Natã Brito looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
