After recieving a nice pass, Guivotas's Luís Gustavo Santana tried to score from far away in the 39th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Pedro Pirani got free with Jaime Perez in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jaime Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão de Alcântara in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Guivotas's goal looked a bit too open when Paulão de Alcântara came free, but Jaime Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
