After 8 minutes, Narciso Jacinto made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. F.C Olimpicus's Durval Reis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The F.C Olimpicus fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when F.C Olimpicus's Luís Fernando Madureira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Durval Reis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Narciso Jacinto went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Arantes in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Váldson da Silveira saved Marajazinho EC from getting behind. Luís Fernando Madureira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Váldson da Silveira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Váldson da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Arantes in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

F.C Olimpicus made a substitution. Tião Maia replaced Carlos Arantes. Jerônimo Paraíba charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerônimo Paraíba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 53rd minute, Jerônimo Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Bruninho Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marajazinho EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruninho Salgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durval Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Fernando Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Váldson da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute Luís Fernando Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Váldson da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Fernando Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. F.C Olimpicus's Durval Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Jacinto in the 63rd minute of play. Marajazinho EC's Narciso Jacinto got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bruninho Salgado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Durval Reis made a huge save. 72 minutes into the match, F.C Olimpicus's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Jacinto came free, but Durval Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. F.C Olimpicus's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Narciso Jacinto scored to the left of an out of position Durval Reis, making the score, 1-3. After 84 played minutes Marajazinho EC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luís de Queiroz. 92 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when F.C Olimpicus's Tião Maia fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Marajazinho EC's Váldson da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fernando Madureira in the 94th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Maia in the 95th minute of play forced Marajazinho EC's goalkeeper Váldson da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Váldson da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fernando Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Chants of Marajazinho EC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as F.C Olimpicus had held the ball for most of the match.
