When Toninho Batistuta in the 11th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Nico Bezerra kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Nico Bezerra was a little too slow when Toninho Batistuta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Toninho Batistuta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lomba Grande SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Toninho Batistuta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nico Bezerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 27 minutes into the match, Lomba Grande SC's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Gonçalves came free, but Esteve Gonsalve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toninho Batistuta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Nico Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adrianinho Proença to make the kick off. Toninho Batistuta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toninho Batistuta in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nico Bezerra saved Maragipinho from getting behind. Esteve Gonsalve made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Gonçalves in the 67th minute. If Toninho Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrianinho Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Esteve Gonsalve tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Gonçalves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Esteve Gonsalve made a huge save. Toninho Batistuta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nico Bezerra having to make a save. A collision led to Maragipinho getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Diamantino Albuquerque hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Gonçalves in the 96th minute of play forced Lomba Grande SC's goalkeeper Esteve Gonsalve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Lomba Grande SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
