With his leg Carlos de Azevedo managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Galáctus's Sílvio Batistuta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Parada's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Sílvio Batistuta scored to the left of an out of position Carlos de Azevedo, making the score, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sílvio Batistuta got free with Carlos de Azevedo in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 36 minutes into the game, João Adolfo de Alcântara recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos de Azevedo. João Adolfo de Alcântara showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. When Fabiano Gaúcho fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Parada's protests and gave Fabiano Gaúcho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th minute, Fabiano Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Batistuta in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, Parada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. Galáctus's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
