Toninho Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Velloso having to interfere. Edgard Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerson de Amorim in the 15th minute of play. Edgard Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerson de Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Toninho Queiroz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Edgard Velloso made a huge save. Toninho Queiroz in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The supporters of Pioes booed when Ibiquara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vânderson da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toninho Queiroz scored 1-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgard Velloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Ibiquara's Edgard Velloso got control of the ball when Toninho Queiroz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Alex Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibiquara's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Paranaense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrinho Loyola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 44 minutes into the match, Toninho Queiroz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgard Velloso. Ibiquara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toninho Queiroz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vicente Velasco in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedrinho Loyola saved Pioes from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vicente Velasco was the one to do the kick off. Ibiquara's Edgard Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Queiroz in the 78th minute of play. Gerson de Amorim scored 4-2 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgard Velloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
