The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivan Ekain struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Silvinho Severo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SE Stifler. When Zé Carlos Favoretto came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Pingador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Carlos Favoretto couldn't finish the play. After 13 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Simões made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. SE Stifler's Eugênio Nogueira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, Carlos Eduardo Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ivan Ekain recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Pingador's zone, Ivan Ekain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvinho Severo came out of the goal and Ivan Ekain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Pingador's Silvinho Severo got control of the ball when Ivan Ekain tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivan Ekain received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Silvinho Severo came out and tried to block the shot, but Ivan Ekain slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 40th minute. Adelino Saldanha might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvinho Severo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adelino Saldanha ran back to his position shaking his head. Silvinho Severo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Ekain in the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elder Brito to make the kick off. Sérgio Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eugênio Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elder Brito in the 55th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Elder Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugênio Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandro Pires charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sandro Pires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd match minute, Pingador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Pires to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivan Ekain in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvinho Severo saved Pingador from getting behind. Adelino Saldanha scored 2-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silvinho Severo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Pingador's zone, Adelino Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvinho Severo came out of the goal and Adelino Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Ivan Ekain sped through Pingador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Silvinho Severo. SE Stifler's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
