In the 10th minute of the match Silas Zanette shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ernani Paes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Oséas Silveira hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Ernani Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Xavier in the 20th minute of play. Evandro Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. When Evandro Dias fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SoulSocietyX's protests and gave Evandro Dias a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Saguoes booed when SoulSocietyX was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evandro Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernani Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Saldanha in the 26th minute of the match. Ernani Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Saldanha in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute Marcinho de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernani Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Xavier in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SoulSocietyX's zone, Waldemar Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernani Paes came out of the goal and Waldemar Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcinho de Queiroz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Donato Maia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. SoulSocietyX's Ernani Paes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldemar Saldanha in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Waldemar Saldanha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Saguoes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcinho de Queiroz made a kick off. In the 54th match minute, Saguoes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustão Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Ernani Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Xavier, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Ernani Paes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldemar Saldanha in the 59th minute. Ernani Paes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Waldemar Saldanha went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 64th minute of the match, Marco Xavier tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ernani Paes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 66 minutes into the game, SoulSocietyX's Marcinho de Queiroz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Maia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho de Queiroz in the 69th minute of play forced Saguoes's goalkeeper Donato Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Saguoes defense, Marcinho de Queiroz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donato Maia. The Saguoes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donato Maia should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute, Saguoes's Marco Xavier ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ernani Paes. Ernani Paes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. In the 78th minute, Faustão Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas do Valle in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SoulSocietyX's Juarês Maciel got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Nico Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Donato Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, SoulSocietyX's goalkeeper Ernani Paes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Waldemar Saldanha. Donato Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcinho de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute of the match, Waldemar Saldanha got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ernani Paes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A hard shot by Denílson Furlan from long distance, 95 minutes into the match, got Ernani Paes's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With a little luck, SoulSocietyX's Ernani Paes got control of the ball when Waldemar Saldanha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ernani Paes came out of the goal in the 98th minute to try and stop a shot by Saguoes's Waldemar Saldanha. But to his dismay, Waldemar Saldanha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Saguoes eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
