Spectators: 6650 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1650, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Diogo Toledo started the match with the kick off. In the 6thth minute of the game Tiago Mangueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Berlim's Miguel Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diogo Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Willian Netto hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute Diogo Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Jacioba booed when Berlim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Carlos Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Falcão Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Berlim's Falcão Mota managed to work through Jacioba's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Falcão Mota dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Miguel Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pedro Palmeira in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Pedro Palmeira in the 26th minute of play forced Berlim's goalkeeper Miguel Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Diogo Toledo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Durval Teixeira was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Miguel Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pedro Palmeira in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Berlim booed when Jacioba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 35 played minutes Jacioba got a freekick which was hit by Waldir Vianna. Durval Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Toledo in the 36th minute of the match. José Pedro Palmeira struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Miguel Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jacioba. Diogo Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Berlim getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Laerte Carneiro hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Pedro Palmeira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Antônio Carlos Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 52 minutes into the match, Berlim's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Palmeira came free, but Miguel Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Falcão Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Teixeira having to interfere. A collision led to Jacioba getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ismael Aguiar hit a great ball. Durval Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Toledo in the 59th minute of play forced Jacioba's goalkeeper Durval Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Falcão Mota's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Durval Teixeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Tiago Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Miguel Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, José Pedro Palmeira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jacioba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Berlim! Miguel Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldir Vianna in the 98th minute. The Jacioba supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jacioba would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
