José Valadares came out of the goal and Clemente Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Paulo Mattos got free with José Valadares in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that João Paulo Mattos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Valadares was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. João Paulo Mattos in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. If Zé Pedro Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Paulo Mattos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. José Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Paulo Mattos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Valadares having to make a save. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Valadares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 95 minutes of play, Melos's Clemente Damião made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Valadares was left in no man's land by his defense there!
