Spectators: 6444 (Terracing: 4800, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 144) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Raí Vergílio made the kick off which started today's match. After a defensive mix-up in Jaburuna FC's zone, Benedito Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederico de Amorim came out of the goal and Benedito Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frederico de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raí Vergílio in the 6th minute of the match. The supporters of Catajal SC booed when Jaburuna FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 11 played minutes Jaburuna FC got a freekick which was hit by Renato Corrêa. In the 13th minute Benedito Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederico de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Benedito Bueno put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Frederico de Amorim. The supporters of Jaburuna FC booed when Catajal SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wilson Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an all-out effort, Jaburuna FC's Wellington Batista threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Guto Teixeira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito Bueno in the 34th minute of play forced Jaburuna FC's goalkeeper Frederico de Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raí Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico de Amorim having to interfere. After the first half Catajal SC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guto Teixeira to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Guto Teixeira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jaburuna FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. A collision led to Catajal SC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Tiaguinho Mandrak hit a great ball. Benedito Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico de Amorim having to interfere. Wellington Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guto Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 73 minutes into the game, Raí Vergílio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Frederico de Amorim. Raí Vergílio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Catajal SC's zone, Wilson Hermes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The audience was convinced that Guto Teixeira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wellington Batista was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. If Wilson Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 95 minutes into the match, Catajal SC's goal looked a bit too open when Guto Teixeira came free, but Wellington Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jaburuna FC's Wilson Hermes got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Catajal SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Catajal SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
