The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovanni Neto got free with João Carlos Recife in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Macondo Cana Clube's Hélio Tróia got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Wilson Chaves sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Macondo Cana Clube's João Carlos Recife didn't even have to move. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Carlos Recife took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vito Tande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hélio Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Neiva having to interfere. Egídio Mumbach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Rodrigo Neiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anel's Vito Tande got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Egídio Mumbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Macondo Cana Clube's zone, Vito Tande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Carlos Recife came out of the goal and Vito Tande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Otávio Gaúcho hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Marcinho Chaves hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. If Serginho Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 91st minute of the match Otávio Gaúcho completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Otávio Gaúcho a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
