In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tiaraju's goalkeeper Jano Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aílton Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Francisco Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Fernandes having to interfere. Aílton Xavier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrick Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Patrick Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Francisco Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrick Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Francisco Guedes in the 27th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Vágner Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juventus Esporte Clube's Patrick Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Francisco Guedes in the 33rd minute of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Aílton Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jano Azevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Tiaraju's zone, Juan Mello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jano Azevedo came out of the goal and Juan Mello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute Douglas Faustino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jano Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Francisco Guedes made a kick off. Aílton Xavier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Juan Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Juventus Esporte Clube's Antônio Carlos Alves got a free kick in the 59th minute. Patrick Fernandes came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Tiaraju's Aílton Xavier. But to his dismay, Aílton Xavier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Juan Mello had several of the Tiaraju's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 65 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-3 score and a disappointed Jano Azevedo as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a rather tough play, Tiaraju's Vágner Sena got a free kick in the 71st minute. Afonsinho Mazza, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 74th minute, Aílton Xavier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patrick Fernandes was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Jano Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Douglas Faustino sent off a good shot on target. João Francisco Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Patrick Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Carlos Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. When João Carlos Carioca fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Juventus Esporte Clube's protests and gave João Carlos Carioca a yellow card for diving instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
