In the 7th minute, Rubens Brito sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cruzeiro to's Wilian Paraíba didn't even have to move. In the 12th minute, Geovânio Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víktor Teles in the 15th minute of play forced Cruzeiro to's goalkeeper Wilian Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilian Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víktor Teles in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute Wilian Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilian Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Víktor Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Descoberto's supporters rose to their feet, but Víktor Teles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilian Paraíba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Víktor Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murilo Coutinho hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute Víktor Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilian Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Víktor Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilian Paraíba having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víktor Teles in the 34th minute of play forced Cruzeiro to's goalkeeper Wilian Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilian Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Víktor Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Víktor Teles in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilian Paraíba prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

Leopoldo da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurinho da Cunha in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of Cruzeiro to booed when Descoberto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulisses da Silveira during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute Víktor Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilian Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilian Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Víktor Teles in the 58th minute of the match. Víktor Teles was extremely unlucky when he, in the 69th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilian Gerber got free with Wilian Paraíba in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víktor Teles in the 77th minute of play forced Cruzeiro to's goalkeeper Wilian Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruzeiro to were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Descoberto's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Murilo Coutinho took the corner. The corner ended in Murilo Coutinho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Descoberto's Leopoldo da Silveira did a great save. Wilian Paraíba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilian Gerber in the 89th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Víktor Teles in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilian Paraíba prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
