The supporters of F.C Capão Redondo booed when Catoles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giuseppe da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. F.C Capão Redondo's Enio Braga got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. F.C Capão Redondo's Gilvan Pirani got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute Enio Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to F.C Capão Redondo getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Naldo Lima hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Catoles's zone, Enio Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles Favoretto came out of the goal and Enio Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enio Braga to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Gustavo Catarinense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Pena in the 63rd minute of play forced F.C Capão Redondo's goalkeeper Nildo Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enio Braga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charles Favoretto having to make a save. Catoles were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after F.C Capão Redondo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mário Dantas took the corner. Charles Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enio Braga in the 79th minute of the match. Gustavo Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nildo Sampaio having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Catoles's Anderson Bueno got a free kick in the 87th minute. Marco Gomes, 88 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Naldo Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Sérgio Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Nildo Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
