Giannis Manousakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Messias in the 11th minute of play. Egídio Sá blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rômulo Luz having to make a save. Ipueiras's Rômulo Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio Sá in the 17th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Egídio Sá's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rômulo Luz was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Ipueiras's Diogo Guedes got a free kick in the 24th minute. After 26 played minutes Ipueiras got a freekick which was hit by Marcel Damião. Afonso Vieira charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Egídio Sá to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Messias in the 55th minute of play forced Engenharia Civil's goalkeeper Giannis Manousakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Lima's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Giannis Manousakis firmly grabbed it by the left post. Orlando de Carvalho hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When Egídio Sá came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Engenharia Civil fans jumped to their feet. Egídio Sá might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rômulo Luz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
