The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrianinho Vasconcelos during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Mirituba EC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Adrianinho Vasconcelos hit a great ball. In the 12th minute of the match Danilo Paulista shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hílton de Sousa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rota 262 CF's Paulo Dantas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Rota 262 CF from getting a goal against them. After 18 minutes, Carlos Fernando Rossi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rota 262 CF and the Mirituba EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mirituba EC booed when Rota 262 CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Fernando Rossi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlinhos Dracena's late challenge caught a Mirituba EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlinhos Dracena helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Rota 262 CF's Carlinhos Dracena got a free kick in the 20th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Fernandes got free with Paulo Dantas in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th match minute, Mirituba EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilson Antunes to maneuver through the defense. Rota 262 CF's Paulo Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho Valadares in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute José Carlos Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Téo Zonta hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. João Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. With a little luck, Mirituba EC's Hílton de Sousa got control of the ball when João Valladares tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rota 262 CF's Carlinhos Dracena got a free kick in the 82nd minute. João Valladares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Hílton de Sousa made a huge save. In the 91st minute, Osvaldinho Valadares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mirituba EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
