In the 2nd play minute Mané Rodrigues came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Luizinho Recife. 1-0. Mané Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 7th minute of the match Hermínio de Amorim shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luizinho Recife showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Mané Rodrigues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luizinho Recife was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. G 3 L 3 I A.F.C's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Gilvan Vidal scored to the left of an out of position Luizinho Recife, making the score, 2-0. Nando de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Luizinho Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 24 minutes, Sabino Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. G 3 L 3 I A.F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sabino Gaspar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sabino Netto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mané Rodrigues received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luizinho Recife came out and tried to block the shot, but Mané Rodrigues slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 33rd minute. In the 38th minute Mané Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Ulysses Cosme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. G 3 L 3 I A.F.C's Juan Ribeiro suffered a concussion after 43 minutes and had to leave the field. When Ulysses Cosme fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LerickFC's protests and gave Ulysses Cosme a yellow card for diving instead. Ulysses Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mané Rodrigues was the one to do the kick off. Paulo Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. César Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luizinho Recife stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armindo Pinho's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. G 3 L 3 I A.F.C's Luizinho Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Pinho in the 64th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Armindo Pinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luizinho Recife. G 3 L 3 I A.F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armindo Pinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Luizinho Recife stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mané Rodrigues's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Luizinho Recife showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilvan Vidal, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After 74 played minutes G 3 L 3 I A.F.C got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Bertassi. Dino Nogueira hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Sabino Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot. G 3 L 3 I A.F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Sabino Gaspar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. César Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 81 played minutes LerickFC got a freekick which was hit by Ulysses Cosme. LerickFC were furious when Felippe Veiga was red carded, 82 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for LerickFC! Geovani Viana shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. LerickFC's César Senna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save LerickFC from getting a goal against them. Cristóvão Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Recife having to interfere. Luizinho Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando de Castro in the 92nd minute of the match. LerickFC's Armindo Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. LerickFC had played much better football throughout.
