With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romeu Lago in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Caetano Esteves saved Biquinhas from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeu Lago in the 22nd minute of play forced Biquinhas's goalkeeper Caetano Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Basílio Toscano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caetano Esteves was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 26th minute Romeu Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caetano Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caetano Esteves made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Basílio Toscano sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 65 minutes, Basílio Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. É O INTER's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 71 played minutes Biquinhas got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Peres. After 72 played minutes, É O INTER's Frédson Pires shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Caetano Esteves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in É O INTER reached it. Reginaldo de Amorim's late challenge caught a É O INTER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reginaldo de Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Biquinhas getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Reginaldo de Amorim hit a great ball.
