Márcio de Queirós's late challenge caught a Palestra FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Márcio de Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th minute, Gilberto Bertassi made a precise shot to the right of Luís Eduardo Rossi. Dragão Negro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Dragão Negro FC's goalkeeper Luís Eduardo Rossi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Bertassi. Palestra FC's Rafa Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Marinho in the 27th minute of play. Gilberto Bertassi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Eduardo Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Gilberto Bertassi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A hard shot 34 in the game by Gilberto Bertassi from a close distance when the talented Luís Eduardo Rossi managed to make a qualified save. Dragão Negro FC's players were relieved. 36 minutes into the match, Dragão Negro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Dante came free, but Luís Eduardo Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evaristo Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonathan Dante to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Dante in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Eduardo Rossi saved Dragão Negro FC from getting behind. In the 56th minute, Jonathan Dante got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute Jonathan Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Bertassi scored 2-0 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Eduardo Rossi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilberto Bertassi in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Eduardo Rossi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dragão Negro FC! 79 minutes into the match, Gilberto Bertassi notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Dragão Negro FC's Luís Eduardo Rossi. Luís Eduardo Rossi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee ended the match the Palestra FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
