Baldim's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vestea EC the free kick. In the 4th match minute, Baldim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egídio Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. Cipriano Monteiro, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Benedito Corrêa charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benedito Corrêa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Baldim's Benedito Corrêa got a free kick in the 10th minute. Cipriano Monteiro shot from long distance in the 11th minute, but Silvinho de Mendonça was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Silvinho de Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kiko Vergílio in the 14th minute. Aílton Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th match minute, Baldim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Baldim's goal looked a bit too open when Aílton Neves came free, but Silvinho de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvinho de Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kiko Vergílio in the 29th minute. In the 35th minute of the match, Aílton Neves tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Silvinho de Mendonça saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Claudinei Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Lopes having to interfere. Vestea EC's Severino Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Jacinto in the 43rd minute of play. Severino Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Jacinto in the 45th minute of the match. Severino Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Baldim's Claudinei Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rui Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute of the match Cipriano Monteiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silvinho de Mendonça showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Aílton Neves succeeded in the game's 73rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Severino Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinei Castro in the 77th minute. After having played for 79 minutes, Claudinei Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baldim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ricardo Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kiko Vergílio struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Silvinho de Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vestea EC. In the 97th minute, Betinho Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baldim's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
