In the 10th match minute, Reducao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luiz Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Lagartense Sport Clube's Israel Bermund got a free kick in the 13th minute. After 14 played minutes Reducao got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Sergipano. Frederico Arruda hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Israel Bermund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luís de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilmar Duarte in the 18th minute of play. Luís de Castro made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Israel Bermund sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilmar Duarte in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís de Castro saved Reducao from getting behind. Maurinho Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Lagartense Sport Clube's Nilmar Duarte slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luís de Castro. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. 29 minutes into the game, Lagartense Sport Clube's Nilmar Duarte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís de Castro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Lagartense Sport Clube's Zeca Carvalho suffered a concussion in the 34th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Dorival Bittencourt fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Reducao's protests and gave Dorival Bittencourt a yellow card for diving instead. Lagartense Sport Clube made a substitution. João Pedro Maia replaced Zeca Carvalho. Dorival Bittencourt hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Luís de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Israel Bermund in the 37th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nilmar Duarte in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 43rd minute, André Luiz Cardozo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nilmar Duarte stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nilmar Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The Lagartense Sport Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. A collision led to Reducao getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Luiz Gustavo Mesquita hit a great ball. When Tarcisio Mello fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lagartense Sport Clube's protests and gave Tarcisio Mello a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Reducao booed when Lagartense Sport Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maurinho Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evandro Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Evandro Arósio's late challenge caught a Lagartense Sport Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reducao's Luís de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Duarte in the 81st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilmar Duarte in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís de Castro saved Reducao from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 87 minutes, Maurinho Nogueira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Nilmar Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 minutes, Frederico Arruda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Reducao and the Lagartense Sport Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Reducao fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! Lagartense Sport Clube walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
