But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caio Gerber couldn't finish the play. Amadeu Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Jorge Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Teles having to interfere. With a little luck, BACURI FC's Amadeu Teles got control of the ball when Luizão Valadares tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute Jorge Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guilherme Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 27 played minutes BACURI FC got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Teles. Ferreira's Aílton Lago shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 28th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Amadeu Teles but with some difficulty. BACURI FC's Caio Gerber got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ferreira getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Luizão Valadares hit a great ball. When Luiz Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the BACURI FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Novaes couldn't finish the play. In the 35th match minute, Ferreira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurinho Leme to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Ferreira's goal looked a bit too open when Duda da Fonseca came free, but Baltazar Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caio Gerber's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baltazar Melo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Caio Gerber to strike the kick off in the second half. Josué Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Melo having to interfere. Caio Gerber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Baltazar Melo made a huge save. Luiz Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Baltazar Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Ferreira got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Valadares. 64 minutes into the match, Ferreira's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Novaes came free, but Baltazar Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. BACURI FC's Amadeu Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erivaldo Varela in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute Duda da Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltazar Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ademar Passos made in the 69th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by BACURI FC's Faustão de Alcântara. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ferreira's goalkeeper Baltazar Melo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Luiz Novaes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Josué Nunes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 75th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Caio Gerber struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Baltazar Melo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BACURI FC. In the 80th minute, Caio Gerber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the BACURI FC defense, Jorge Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeu Teles. The BACURI FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu Teles should have stopped the shot. Luiz Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Melo having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Ferreira's goal looked a bit too open when Duda da Fonseca came free, but Baltazar Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
