The attack was good, but when Guto Marques in the 33rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Eurico Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Souto having to interfere. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cianita's goalkeeper Severino Souto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eurico Nóbrega struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Severino Souto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Candeia EC. Belmiro Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Severino Souto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eurico Nóbrega in the 53rd minute of the match. Candeia EC's Belmiro Tande proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Candeia EC from getting a goal against them. Valdomiro Valladares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valdomiro Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rubinho Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 67 minutes, Giuseppe Ferraz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Candeia EC and the Cianita players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 67 played minutes Candeia EC got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Ferraz. Belmiro Tande made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Rubinho Félix sent off a good shot on target. Valdomiro Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belmiro Tande having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Eurico Nóbrega's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severino Souto was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game.
